Here's their story...
Our story is one of love, patience, endurance, and increasing strength. Only 6 months after Chris and I met, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In the 6 short months that we had known each other, Chris had already proven to me that he was different than any man I had ever met. He was strong and driven and yet so thoughtful and kind, he always inspired me to be the best person I could be. For the first year after his diagnosis, he struggled through 8 of the strongest chemotherapy treatments that are given to anyone, and I saw his strength and spirit waiver, but never did he break. Two years after diagnosis, he is now in remission and although he still has another full year of treatments since the type of cancer he has is known for a 50% chance of resurfacing. He has returned to his normal job, but also works at night and on the weekends on freelance projects to save money for a wedding and for our lives together. He works so hard, so that he can give me the best of everything including the wedding that he feels I deserve.
I want to be able to give him the wedding that we both have dreamed of, so that we can have a beautiful start of our lives together and so that we can have a positive start to a lifetime of health and happiness. Through the cancer we grew stronger and our relationship closer and we are able to appreciate each other and all of the times we have shared. We both want a wedding that will allow us to celebrate this bond that we have made in the presence of our family and friends and everyone who has stood by us through the past 2 years. My wish would be to be able to give this gift to Chris, so that I can show him once and for all the impact that he has had on my life.
